As the world continues its fight against coronavirus, vaccination studies continue to spread to large masses. The virus, which undergoes different mutations in different countries during the epidemic process, causes changes in the effectiveness rates of vaccines. The delta variant, which is more effective than all other mutations, started to spread rapidly in England. So what exactly is this variant?
WHAT IS THE CORONAVIRUS DELTA MUTATION (DELTA VARIANT), DOES IT EXIST IN TURKEY?
Vaccines have been a great success in many different mutations that have emerged so far. However, the effect of vaccines decreases to a certain extent in the Indian variant, also known as the delta variant. According to the news in Euronews, one out of every 25 people in the UK who received a double dose of vaccine, got the disease again due to this variant.
The variant, which is seen in more than 65 countries around the world, was also found in Turkey in the past months.
DOES IT WORK IN BIONTECH AND SINOVAC DELTA MUTATION?
According to Sinovac, Biontech, which is more effective in many different mutations, is among the vaccines whose effectiveness is reduced against the delta variant. Biontech, which provides 93 percent protection under normal conditions, has 88 percent effectiveness against the delta variant, while this rate is lower for other vaccines.
