1- YOU MAY HAVE BACK PAIN

Have you noticed that you get hunchbacked after wearing heels all day? This is because you’re trying to reduce the pressure on your back. In normal position, we have a C curve on our back. In high heels, the shape of the spine changes and the cartilages in the vertebrae, joints and ligaments may wear out over time.

2- YOU FEEL EXTRA PRESSED ON YOUR FOOT

Heeled shoes disrupt the natural balance of the body. It can put pressure on your feet, affecting your walking speed, stride length and walking pattern.

3- YOUR KNEE CAN BE DAMAGED

Knees are more prone to tearing when you wear high-heeled shoes. Known as knee osteoarthritis, “wear-out arthritis” is more common in women than men, and wearing high heels is one of the main causes of this problem.

4- YOUR WRISTS CAN BE HURT

Your calf muscles can be damaged by high heels. This makes it difficult for your ankles to move while walking. Since the ankle is not in its normal position, the Achilles tendon can contract. Over time, you may experience an inflammatory disease called insertional Achilles tendinitis.

5- YOU MAY HAVE HIP PAIN

Wearing high-heeled shoes can cause you to experience hip pain later on. As your hip muscles are forced to stay in one position, it becomes possible for you to experience health problems over time.

6- YOUR FOOT NAILS MAY BE BROKEN AND THIN

Wearing high-heeled shoes can also affect you cosmetically. Your toenails, which are crushed in heels, may become thin and brittle over time, or they may thicken and become difficult to cut.

7- INK-NAIL

If you have ingrown toenails, you need to think twice when wearing high heels. Heels can make the condition worse and cause pain, redness, and even infection.

8- YOUR FOOT SHAPE MAY BE DEFORMED

Always wearing high heels can cause you to have a deformed shape called hammer toe. The hammer toe is caused by your toes not remaining in their natural form because they are “stuck” in the front of the shoe.

9- VARIS MAY OCCUR

Due to the calf muscle that contracts in the high heels, blood is not pumped from your blood vessels as they normally should. This causes the problem of varicose veins over time.

10- YOU CANNOT BE AS FLEXIBLE AS THE OLD

Since high-heeled shoes affect your posture in general, it may not be possible for you to be as flexible as usual. Increased tension in your muscles can interfere with your daily activities such as going up and down stairs, walking or jogging. Therefore, it would be an ideal solution to massage your feet once in a while.
