MAY CAUSE EVEN TOOTH LOSS
Tooth grinding, or bruxism as it is known in medical language, is a problem that is usually seen in people who experience intense stress. Especially, uncontrolled jaw and teeth clenching during sleep both affects the quality of sleep and causes damage to the teeth. Stating that most people do not realize that they are clenching their teeth, Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Hospital Chief Physician and Dermatology Department Lecturer Assoc. Dr. Zekayi Kutlubay said that this situation affects the quality of life.
Assoc. Dr. Kutlubay said, “People are not aware that they are clenching their teeth, but they get up in the mornings tired. They wake up with pain in the cheek and temple area. This pain continues during the day. They continue to squeeze a little during the day. With the tightening, the muscle mass in the jaw increases and they start to tighten more strongly. In the future, the jaw joint may also be damaged. Worse, even tooth loss may occur. Citizens break their teeth with the force of clenching, “he said.

Stating that one of the most effective methods of clenching teeth, which has various treatment methods such as night plaque, meditation and physiotherapy, Assoc. Sometimes I even have difficulty opening my jaw. I have tried various methods for 15 years. I went to hypnosis, bioenergy, but I did not see much benefit. I did not choose plates because I cannot use plates.
