Stating that a sunscreen with a sun protection factor of at least 30 should be used to protect from sunspots, Yontar continued his words as follows;
“The first measure against sunspots is the use of sunscreen cream. Sunscreen creams should have a sun protection factor of at least 30 and should be repeated every two hours, especially in summer. Some products or procedures applied to the skin also increase the formation of spots. cologne, which is a good disinfectant, should not be applied especially to the parts of the body that come into contact with the sun.This rule also applies to wet wipes and perfume.In addition, women should be protected from the sun in order to prevent the development of stains after laser epilation, skin care and chemical treatments for the skin.
Do not apply sunscreen cream to babies younger than six months.
Yontar, who warns that sunscreen should not be used in babies under 6 months, said, “We do not recommend using sunscreen in babies younger than six months because the skin barrier is not fully developed. For children older than 6 months, it is beneficial to take sunscreen, glasses and a hat.”
Stating that allergic skin reactions are frequently encountered in case of using sunscreens of which quality is not sure, Yontar said, “Allergy-related eczema may develop in these patients. Therefore, the reliability of sunscreen and any similar product applied to the skin is very important for our skin health.”
Spot treatment is personal
Stating that spot treatment is a personalized treatment, Dr. Efşan Gürbüz Yontar gave the following information about the treatment:
Stain formation can occur in patients with different severity and forms. A roadmap is drawn up by the dermatologist for treatment; The treatment scheme is determined according to the type of stain, the depth of the stain and the skin structure of the person. Among the stain treatment methods, PRP, mesotherapy, chemical skin peeling and laser treatments are applied. More effective results are obtained when these treatment protocols are generally used in combination. However, patients should be very careful in order not to recur in the post-treatment period. Because the stain is a chronic disease and the recurrence rate is quite high.
