Allergy can cause diseases by affecting multiple systems in our body, although it varies from person to person. The problem that is frequently encountered in people with allergies occurs in the respiratory tract.

The damage caused by the allergy to the respiratory tract manifests itself as asthma and lung disorders. Diseases that develop due to allergies are asthma, hypersensitivity pneumonia, eosinophilic lung diseases and allergic bronchopluminal aspergillosis. It is the most common disease associated with allergies. Often in people with allergic rhinitis, the disease progresses into asthma. While nasal discharge and sneezing appear in allergy attacks, symptoms in asthma appear as cough and shortness of breath. Respiratory disease that starts with the upper respiratory tract also affects the lower respiratory tract.

Early diagnosis of asthma can be treated. Asthma treatment can be started while in the allergic rhinitis stage. The most important thing is to find and treat the person’s allergic trigger.

Eosinophilic lung diseases

Eosinophilic lung diseases are divided into two main categories. Acute eosinophilic pneumonia is manifested by a sudden onset of cough, shortness of breath and fever. It usually occurs as a result of hypersensitivity due to some drugs or allergens. Chronic eosinophilic pneumonia may be atopy, allergic rhinitis, usually asthma, and nasal polyps. Common symptoms in eosinophils are mild fever, night sweats, weight loss, and a phlegmatic cough after dry cough.

Hypersensitivity pneumonia

Some people react to many different allergens. Hypersensitivity pneumonia resulting from the cellular type immune response of the lungs against the reacted allergens is therefore highly variable.

There are many causes of the disease, also known as the farmer’s lung colloquially. These can be substances such as fungus, mold, animal protein, bird manure, animal feathers. The immune system of the person and environmental factors are important in the appearance of this disease.

• Allergic bronchoplumuner without aspergillosis (ABPA)

It occurs when allergic bronchopluminal aspergillosis fungi reach the lungs through respiration. Fungi reaching the respiratory tract cause symptoms such as asthma, cough, and fever. Aspergillus fumigatus is a fungus that lives in rotten food and moist surfaces. The diagnosis is made with a fluid sample taken by bronchoscopy and a blood test.

You can reduce the risk of diseases caused by allergies.

Allergy and allergy-related diseases reduce the quality of life of people. What you can do to minimize these effects is;

– Observe yourself and your triggers carefully.
– Try not to be in a smoking environment.
– Whenever possible, do not keep dust collecting items in your living area.
– Ventilate your environment frequently.
– If you are using it, clean and ventilate the curtains at regular intervals.
– Do not interrupt your treatment process.
