Stating that there are many women who became pregnant after PRP treatment, Gynecology and Obstetrics Specialist Prof. Dr. Yavuz Aydın stated that PRP treatment is promising for people with ovarian failure and unsuccessful IVF trials.

prof. Dr. Yavuz Aydın, “While the ovarian reserve decreases rapidly in women over 35 years of age, in some cases, the number of eggs may be insufficient due to early menopause in women at a much younger age. The PRP treatment to be applied to these people is a product obtained from the person’s own blood by centrifugation and plasma rich in coagulation cells. “Platelet Rich Plasma” means “Platelet Rich Plasma”. Thanks to the growth factors in this plasma, the immature cells in the ovarian tissue are activated to complete the maturation phases.”

IN WHICH AREAS IS IT USED?

Stating that the PRP technique is used in many areas, Prof. Dr. Aydın said, “Because it stimulates stem cells that have the ability to transform into mature, healthy cells in all tissues in the body, the PRP technique is a treatment alternative used in many different areas of medicine, from orthopedics to sports medicine, from non-surgical medical treatment options to medical aesthetic applications. It is a promising method that has started to give successful results in ovarian rejuvenation, infertility treatment, uterine lining problems and many more in gynecology.

Gynecology and Obstetrics Specialist Prof. Dr. Yavuz Aydın listed the situations where PRP is recommended with the following words:

“Decreased ovarian reserve, early ovarian failure, low AMH (Antimullerian Hormone) level, pregnancy or IVF treatment plan in older women, problems related to uterine lining and endometrium thickness, low egg quality, one or more The presence of a history of unsuccessful IVF treatment, infection, curettage or gynecological problems due to intrauterine operations.

“WE INJECT PRP INTO THE ovaries”

Stating that the process of stimulating the ovary with PRP consists of two stages, Prof. Dr. Aydın said, “First of all, we prepare the PRP that we will use in the treatment by centrifuging the blood we have taken from the patient with the help of special devices. Then, after we put our patient to sleep for a short time with the application we call sedation, we inject the PRP we obtained under the guidance of transvaginal ultrasound into the ovaries. PRP treatment is carried out in the period immediately after the end of the menstrual bleeding, which is the most suitable time for the procedure. For non-menstrual women, planning is done by monitoring hormone levels.

Reminding that in addition to stimulating the ovary, they can increase the chance of pregnancy with endometrial PRP applications in problems related to the inner lining of the uterus. Dr. Aydın said, “We witnessed that many of our patients who received treatment with the support of this procedure and had been waiting for a long time became pregnant. It is too early to give a definite success rate for PRP, which is a new application in infertility treatment, or to apply it as a stand-alone treatment. However, it is seen that the application of PRP support for purposes such as stimulating the ovaries and eliminating intrauterine problems, in addition to the existing treatments or the IVF process, increases the chances of getting pregnant.”
