Posture disorder can sometimes lead to psychological problems as it also affects the appearance, ”he said.

Stating that preventive measures play an important role in the treatment of posture disorders, Körtelli said, “Providing the correct sitting position and obesity control play an important role at this point. For a good sitting position, a table or desk suitable for the height of the child should be selected. While sitting, the body should be upright. Arms and legs should be in symmetrical position, feet should be placed parallel to the floor. The back should be touched exactly to the back of the seat or chair. The waist gap should be supported with a small pillow or special apparatus.

When children are using a tablet or computer, attention should also be paid to the screen height. The top of the screen should be set at children’s eye level. In addition, in order to shorten the sitting time, the sitting time should be reduced with various activities at home and during break hours at school. Weight control should be provided in children. For this, proper nutrition advice should be taken from the experts, physical activities and sports should be encouraged according to the interests of the children ”.
