While metabolism is defined as the body movements of the people, the basal metabolic rate is completely related to the vital functions of the people. In other words, it is the energy needed during the functioning of the internal organs.

Hormones

One of the biggest reasons for this difference in metabolic rate is hormones. The testosterone hormone, which is found in high levels in men, accelerates the metabolism and increases muscle mass by increasing muscle tissue synthesis and muscle tissue rebuilding.

On the contrary, estrogen hormone in women slows down the metabolism a little. In addition, birth, breastfeeding, menopause and menstrual periods in women often cause hormonal changes in their bodies. In these cases, it affects their metabolism.

Wrong diets started at an early age

Women start dieting from the time they enter puberty. The age of starting the diet occurs at a much earlier age than men.
