With the arrival of summer, experts began to warn about sunbathing for a long time to tan unconsciously. Chemical Engineer Ebru Koç underlined that unconscious tanning can cause much more damage to the skin than is thought, and reminded that sunbathing between 11:00 and 15:00, when the sun is at its highest, is risky.
PREFER NATURAL AND MOISTURIZING OILS
Dr. Koç said, “It is very important to tan consciously. Otherwise, many skin health problems may occur. For this, it is important not to sunbathe during the hours when the sun is at its highest and to use natural oils rich in vitamin E and moisturizing properties while sunbathing. For example, cocoa butter and coconut oil are two preferable natural oils that have these properties.
Cocoa butter, which moisturizes while tanning, is an oil that should be used by those who want to get a permanent tan. If you want to maintain your tan throughout the year, you must moisturize your skin every day.
Taking a shower and using a moisturizer after sunbathing restores moisture to your skin that has lost its moisture under the sun and helps it relax.
