Cardiology Specialist Assoc. Dr. Tolga Aksu said that although it is not a disease by itself, this finding, which is used in the detection of many diseases, is very important especially for heart diseases. Pointing out that if the problem is not detected in fainting due to heart diseases, serious consequences that can lead to loss of life can be experienced, Assoc. Dr. Tolga Aksu said, “For this reason, in case of fainting, it is very important for the patient to go to a heart health specialist first. Because it is possible to minimize the risk by taking early precautions ”.

ATTENTION TO COLLAPSE BEFORE BREAKING

Explaining that if the person experiences heart palpitations without completely losing consciousness, the fainting will be of heart origin, Assoc. Dr. Tolga Aksu continued his words as follows:

“If the patient experiences dizziness during and after palpitations, it is considered to be a rhythm disorder. At this point, it should be remembered that there is a permanent treatment for arrhythmia. However, if it is not treated, it may cause life loss. Therefore, if patients experience complaints such as palpitations, dizziness, and blackout before fainting, they should definitely consult a heart disease specialist. “

Also warning about what to do in case of fainting, Assoc. Dr. Tolga Aksu said, “In the event of fainting, the person temporarily loses consciousness. With sudden cardiac arrest and low blood pressure, all muscles in the body lose their strength and fainting occurs. Although it is a short-term situation, it should be taken into consideration ”.

Beware of recurring decrements

Stating that complaints such as chest pain and shortness of breath may also be signs of heart-related problems, Assoc. Dr. Tolga Aksu said, “But it should not be forgotten that fainting will be an important symptom without these symptoms. Moreover, if the fainting recurs, this can lead to worse consequences. Therefore, first of all serious reasons should be ruled out. After this process, it may take some more time for the other diagnosis to be made. The important thing here is to save the life of the patient in the first place. “The most important message we can give here should be this: A fainting can always be serious,” he said.

RISK OF LOSS OF LIFE IN HEART-ORIENTED DEGREAS

Stating that determining the causes of fainting is medically important, Assoc. Dr. Tolga Aksu said, “30 percent of those who have fainting have fainting for the first time, and 10 percent have recurrent fainting. Fainting is more common in patients between the ages of 15-30. Heart-based fainting attacks are usually repetitive and life-threatening. Therefore, every patient who faints should consult a cardiologist. Thus, heart-originated fainting, which can be life-threatening, can be detected early and intervened without delay, ”he said.

Stating that some of the fainting is caused by rhythm disturbances such as low heart rate or too fast, Assoc. Dr. Tolga Aksu said, “If this group of patients is not treated, 50 percent of them are life-threatening. However, it is possible to reduce this risk to zero with a pacemaker or different treatment methods ”.

THE INTERVENTION IS IMPORTANT TO THE PERSON THAT DEAL

Yeditepe University Hospitals Cardiology Specialist Assoc. Dr. Tolga Aksu made the following suggestions on the subject:

“The best method that can be done in case of fainting is to lay the patient on their back and raise their feet. In this way, the patient’s blood circulation in the brain is accelerated. It should not be forgotten that fainting is not just cardiac. Since some neurological causes, low blood sugar and psychological reasons can cause fainting, the underlying cause must be determined. “
